Guest guest
Disciple:- If Sri Ramakrishna is the embodiment of all Gods and Goddesses of different faiths and religions, why did He remain as a Hindu? Why did He not establish a new religion of His own as Lord Budha did? He could have established a faith that will have universal acceptance. This is another important question that is coming up in my mind. Swamiji:- His adventure was to lay foundation for a universal religious renaissance. He was neither Hindu nor a Christian. He was the vitalizer of all religions as He was following universal principles acceptable by all. He practiced different religions and attained the highest goal of each religion. At last He declared that different religions are paths leading to the same goal. He showed the path leading to a universal brotherhood. During His lifetime He had followers from different religions. After His lifetime His message spread to different parts of this world and we know that there are His followers all over this world. He did not want to be the head of any movement. He was only to give enlightenment in the modern world and to show that one can practice all kinds of Sadhanas (spiritual practices) although one belongs to a particular faith. Therefore He did not establish any new religion.
