Dear Mihaela,

I don't know any thing about Christians but I only know that they pray to jesus

and follow his gospel-Bible.

But the word you haved added " materialists " for christians pained me.

Actually most of Asians follow Lunar calendar. i.e Arabs, Indians, chinese,

Koreans, Japanese, Indo-china.

Not only Indian Many of Asian festivals are celebrated according to Lunar

calendar. But it is true that Indian festivals has many scientific reasons for

opting for the date of celebrations. We celebrate festival called " Sankranthi "

in the month of January. This day always falls on January 13-16.

And guess Romans who created the Calender based SUN is the origin of dates and

months of current day calender. From the history we can understand European

culture is the offspring of Romans and Greeks. I guess this lead to fixing

christmas day as 24-5 december and good friday in the month of March-April as

per calendar based on Sun. Please correct me if I am wrong.

date according to it.And it is not a coincidence, maybe, that in this very period

the Muslims have their Ramadan.Only Christians, beeng perhaps, the greatest

" materialists " ,have fixed the Christmass day on 24-5 of December.

very often only events remain...
