Guest guest
Dear All, Namaste. Sri Ramakrishna Math in Chennai already launched its primary relief programmes for the affected people in Chennai and in deep South. You may directly pay to the Math thro www.sriramakrishnamath.org. Enter the purpose of the donation in the remarks column there. You may also, if you wish so, make your offering in kind, like food, clothing, medical help etc. Jeeva Seva is Shiva Seva. -With love, Sriram. --- MSapre wrote: > > > > Hello All, > Namskar. > Does any know if contribution can be given online by > credit card for > relief fund (Tsunami disaster) in India? > > Thanks, > Best regards, > Meera. > >

Guest guest
You may also try this site: http://www.amma.org/humanitarian-activities/get-involved/tsunami.html At the bottom of the page is a secure link for online contribution: https://www.mothersbooks.org/donations/make-a-donation.html This site belongs to Mata Amritanandamayi's official website in the US. I do not have exact statistics, but I strongly believe that more than 95% of the contributions to this site go for actual help rather than the overheads that international organizations generally have. If you see the link, it has many charities that Amma is involved in. Topping the list currently is the relief fund for the tsunami victims. Let me also share that during the Gujarat Earthquake, She sponsored the rehabiliation of 3 entire villages single-handedly! So, all this to say that money sent here will not create any misgivings in you, I am sure! Amme sharanam! Guest guest
Be aware that contributions to the Red Cross cannot be directed to specified geographic locations and that their administrative overhead is very high. They also do not have long-term solutions for issues. Contributions to The Hindu's fund are sent to the PM relief fund and from past experience they have no transparency in operations and no guarantee that the money will reach the intended recipients since it goes through a large bureaucratic organization. Please consider donating to the Sri Ramakrishna Math (http://www.sriramakrishnamath.org/news/tsunami.shtml) or other organizations such as VIDE (http://www.vide-us.org/appeal.htm) or AID (http://www.sulekha.com/aidtsunami/) Best Regards, Girish On Mon, 27 Dec 2004 09:55:56 -0800 (PST), Sreenivas Gopalam <sgopalam wrote: > > Please try these: > > http://redcross.ca > > http://pay.hindu.com/thrfpay/thrfpay.jsp > > > > MSapre wrote: > > > > Hello All, > Namskar. > Does any know if contribution can be given online by credit card for > relief fund (Tsunami disaster) in India? > > Thanks, > Best regards, > Meera.
