Guest guest
There is a different perspective you can use to look at sufferng. According to Advaita Philosophy, all pleasures and pains relate only to body and mind and we are not the body or the mind. The soul is beyond pain and pleasures. In Bhagvadgeetha , Krishna says: No weapon can hurt the self; neither fire nor water can destroy it. Pure happiness comes only when we realize our true nature and until then, we will have both pains and pleasures. We need to face both with equanimity, but it is easier said than done; it does not mean that we should not try to practice it. > ===== Incredibly low long distance phone rate: 4.5 cents pm! go to:http://www.ldpcphonemodem.cjb.net Need extra cash? Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya Sri Ramakrishna’s saying: “Water poured into an empty vessel makes a bubbling noise, but when the vessel is full, no sound is heard. Similarly, the man who has not found God is full of vain disputation about His existence and nature. But he who has seen Him, silently enjoys the bliss Divine.” " So long as the bee is outside the petals of the flower and has not tasted the sweetness of the nectar within, it hovers round humming; but when it gets into flower, it drinks the nector noiselessly. So long as a man disputes about doctrines and dogmas, he has not tasted the nectar of true faith. Once he tastes that, he becomes silent. " Tirumantiram: verse 762 Treasure Within is Imperisable They who do not see the Treature that surpasses all, But seek the treature that perishes, If within their melting heart they seek inside They will see the Treasure that dies not. (Seek the treasure within. It is imperishable. If you but seek, you can attain the imperishable Siva state) Tirumantiram: verse 143 Dust Into Dust- That is Body's Way At first it was clay, then it divided into two, It was keeping well when evil entered, Even as clear water falling from the skies, Mixed with the mud becomes muddy, Men degenerated and become subject to birth and death. (The body of motal clay is driven by twain Karmas, good and bad. When the rains pour incessantly the mud pot turns to mud again. So, too death brings destruction; and when the body-roof in time caves in, neither wife or children accompany it. Only the austerities and knowledge the man acquired go with him).
