Guest guest
hello Rangeet, that self-proclamation of Thakur came abt in the circumstance when Swamiji had doubted His being an Incarnation n had thought to himself, " Now on His death-bed if he can proclaim that He is God why then i can surely believe Him! " n Thakur said these words, " One who came as Rama n as Krishna is now Ramakrishna n that not merely from ur vedanic viewpoint " ..... so i guess that settles the query whether or not he identified with the Supreme from the vedantic standpoint.. also one comes across various allusions to Thakur being one with the Supreme! Swamiji has also averred that Thakur was greater than all the Incarnations too! But ultimately as Jay said it is what u regard Him truly is what counts, ur faith n devotion...... anyway, why get into the nitty-gritty of who Thakur was, just know Him to be your own n love Him! love n best regards, Shyam.
