Further to question from Shankar about Sri Ramakrishna practising Islam...etc.. the response from Siddhartha as below..........we had to edit out the tail end of previous message-----------------jay

Dear Shankar,

I am too ignorant to be able to present sound reasons, however, my views are as follows:

Thakur practised many religions and reached the culmination of each of them only to find that there was not any difference. That which is Kali was manifest in the incarnation of Jesus. And to reach that very mother Kali is too the goal of Mohamadenism, only it is expressed differently. So each of them eventually led to Kali or the same goal.

Once you reach that goal, where really is the difference between Kali and the supreme being shining forth through Jesus? Jesus was a great channel through which Kali manifested herself. So such questions as to why or how can one worship Kali after having worshipped Christianity or Islam are too baseless and shallow.

After having attained the supreme non-dualistic realisation from where does this diversity arise?

Regards.

Hello Shankar, When Sri Ramakrishna was practising Christianity orIslam he did not enter any Hindu temples or worshipany of the Hindu Gods. He remained true to thatreligion. However upon realizing the truths of thatreligion (in Christianity he had the vision ofChrist), it was clear to him that the joy or truththat one gets thru this different path is the same asworshipping Kali. Hence he was able to go back toworshipping her. The same is the case with Dualistic, Non-dualisticand Qualified Dualistic paths within Hinduism. Hencethe saying "As many faiths so many paths to God".regards,--Sunil
