A Treasured Memory of Swami Rangathananda

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

I share in the shock and grief for the loss of Swami

Ranganathananda to all of the devotees worldwide: he

was the first Ramakrishna swami that I heard lecture

as a young student at the University of Guelph,

Guelph, Ontario, Canada. I will always remember that

evening; the Swami's astounding mind and tremendous

liberated spirit communicated itself to my young

soul--I made the commitment on the spot to explore and

try to understand such greatness of being. I had never

witnessed anything like the pure heart-mind and pure

consciousness that opened itself freely to all of us

that evening in our young lives. To you, Swamiji, I

owe tremendous thanks for this awakening and my

eternal pranams. May you know the Great Peace! Jai Sri

Ramakrishna!
