Dear Friends,

Parama Poojya Swamiji was a personification of kindness.

I want to tell one incident. I think it is 1994 or 95. I had been to

Hyderabad to take his blessings. But Swamiji was having severe

lung infection and was not able to breath properly and he had been

adivsed not to speak by the doctors. So he had taken a vow not to

speak for a week. He was not speaking to any one including the Math

inmates. I was staying there only for three days. So first two days went

off with only doing pranams from a distance. I felt I should have gone

there some other time when the Maharaj was well. On the third day when

I went to see him and do the pranam, he called me asked me whether I

was leaving that day. He spoke for a while, blessed me and all members

of my family and later mentioned that he had broken his vow of silence to

speak to me. By that time his assistant Swamiji came inside the room

wondering what was going on.

I really felt so sorry that I made him speak. Now when I think of

that incidence, I understand how kind he was and what a love he had to

others. Inspite of his very bad health and also his vow of silence, he

spoke to me. The more I think about him the more taller he grows.

I bow to him again and again all through my life. May Sri Guru Maharaj

and Sri Ma give us strength to overcome this loss in our life.

regards,

Swamy

Re: Swami Sri Ranganathananda passing away

I also share the loss of Pujya Swamiji along with

millions of his disciples, admirers and followers. I

regurarly hear his speeches and as everyone who has

heard him, I am amazed at his genius. Since I didn't

hear Swami Vivekananda in words, I closely associate

Swami Ranganadhanandaji to him. Reading various

articles regarding such a great person through the

media and other sources, only increases my respect to

a jivanmukta. When his brother monks were greiving in

the hospital, his comments addressing them not to

worry as he would love to come back as brahmachari

again to the ashram, showed me how much he had

pracitised the teaching of Swami Vivekananda to

dedicate one's life to the service of humanity. I bow

down to such a great soul again and again.

Pranams,

Prasad
