Guest guest
Dear friends, Pujya Swami Rangantahnanda was not only a great orator, who captivated intellectuals, but a great developer too. Wherever he was posted that center's growth was phenomenal both physically and in intellectual field. He encouraged practice of teachings of Bhagwat Gita and Vedanta in the daily life of individuals bringing joy and enthusiasim in their otherwise dull life! I was fortunate to be close to him since his days in Karachi Ashrama; I was then a college student. I have seen the wonderful change he brought about in Ramakrishna Centers at Karachi, at Delhi and again at Hyderabad!! Institute of Culture in Kolkatta was also started and developed under his direct guidance. Even at the age past 90, he was intellectually alert and his memory was intact, although his body was weak. By Thakur's Grace, I was able to pay my last respects to him in person during my stay at Belur Math in November 2003. May He be praised. RE: GOD by Kaushukji Almost all religions say that there is ONE God only. But unfortunately they (except Sanatan Dharma) think that their concept of God is the only true one and all others are false. Sanatan Dharma (which is commonly called now as Hinduism)alone declares that not only God is ONE but different concepts of Him are all true as they indicate different aspects of the same Reality seen by an individual at different level of his spiritual progress! Re: Sharing of spiritual experience To my mind it is neither possible nor proper to reveal personal spiritual experience in an open Forum like this. Spiritual experience is very personal and there is no comparison between experiences of even two disciples of the same Guru. Each 'Sadhak' has to follow his individual path. Sri Ramakrishna used to advice his disciples not to reveal their experiences to others. If any sadhak experiences a problem, he can ask the question and if any one has experience of solving it, he may give the required advice or suggestions. To my mind that is all that can be achieved in a forum like this. A disciple can tell his spiritual experiences to his Guru only and if Guru is adept, he will be able to guide him what to do next!! Spiritual path is an individual and solitary path, although some Sadhana/ spiritual practices can be done in a grioup- like 'Satsangh/ Kirtan'(singing of devotional songs). Regards.
