Guest guest
Namaskar, All distractions are like 'noise'. When we want to do anything, there always are some noises in the external world as well as in the inner world. If what we do is interesting to the mind, mind learns to ignore noises and is able to concentrate on the job in hand. This is a common experience. In the same way mind learns to ignore the distractions( which are like noise- unwanted sounds and/or thoughts) when the subject matter of meditation becomes interesting to it and slowly it begins to love it. When we like and love what we do, mind easily concentrates on it. Mind has to be trained by repeated practice to achieve this, says Sri Krishna in Bhagvad Gita. It is by no means an easy task. But it has to be done in whatever way it is possible for an individual. Sri Ramakrishna used to advise housholders to repeat God's name loudly with clapping of hands every morning and evening. (Kirtan) While doing this all senses get occupied with God and His name! Possibility of distraction is much reduced and mind will eventually get absorbed in the thought of God. Absorption in the thought of God is meditation!! Regards Chetan __ Start your day with - make it your home page http://www./r/hs
