Guest guest
hello all, I am in confusion @ caste system recommended in Hinduism. I have found it to be practical save the misinterpretation ofistribution of jobs as creating so called " higher " and " lower " castes instead of a 2-dimensional flat distribution of labor.one big advantage is that it solves the employment problem . What is the observation and recommendation of the holy trio? rgds, GB
Guest guest
Hello Ganadeva, I am writing below the translation by Swami Swarupananda of the 13th sloka of the 4th chapter of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, followed by his comments on it. I hope they are of some help. " The fourfold caste was created by Me, by the differentiation of Guna and Karma. Though I am the author thereof, know Me to be the non-doer, and changeless. " " This sloka is intended to explain the diversity of human temperaments and tendencies. All men are not of the same nature, because of the preponderance of the different Gunas in them. " " The caste system was originally meant to make perfect the growth of humanity, by special culture of certain features through the process of discriminate selection. " For the people interested in String theory there is book called Elegant Universe by Brain Green which is very popular and I read a little bit of it and was highly impressed. I would like to inform those members of our group who are sligthly new that Jayji, our group moderator, is a brilliant physicist. He once mentioned that in his academic years he worked with Roger Penrose and probably didn't think that many would realise what an accomplished scientist Roger Penrose is. If I had been a physicist just meeting him would have been the highlight of my career so I can imagine how special one has to be to work with him. And as we all read at the end of the article that Jayji wrote for Hinduism Today that he gave it all up to study and promote Hinduism which compels me to think what kind of company I am in by being in this group. Regards, Siddharth (Jayji I hope you don't delete the latter part of my message).
Guest guest
dear devotees swami vivekananda has described it best. " It is not caste which is the bane but Previlege that is the bane". Apart from this if anyone can go deep in to it one will understand that how hinduism has sustained this aspect and how nature (prakrithi) has guided the human race who practises this noble and ancient religion. my pranam to all the great saints this country has produced.
