Guest guest
Dear Friends, Only yesterday the Discovery channel was showing an episode titled " Elegant Universe " and yes, they were discussing the string theory. The string theory appears to be complex because, as mentioned in my previous mail, there appears to be infinite interpretations. For those lay persons trying to understand physics as well as the cosmos I would recommend authors like Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, Jayant Nirlekar, Fritzof Capra etc. There are many easy to understand books now out in the market. For those in the spiritual line, please rest assured we are on the right track. Please remember one thing, neither Swamiji nor Thakur ever spoke a lie. Have faith in what they have spoken. As Swami Sivanandaji (Mahapurush Maharaj) remarked, " We haven't come to cheat people. " I personally read books on science just to know about the latest concepts emerging. It gives me great pleasure when I find our spiritual truths being reflected in them. When we are in deep trouble we turn to God. God is not only scientific but the source of all knowledge. I am happy that, at least in India, most of our scientists are devoted to God. That does not take away anything from them but adds compassion and devotion to what they do. A great devotee as well as a great scientist is our own President A P J Abdul Kalam. In his life we see an ideal combination of science and spirituality. He is a rare personality and worthy of reverence. He is a person who exudes spirituality. God is for every one, literate or illiterate. The literate devotee does not experience anything that the illiterate devotee cannot experience. I have mentioned the experiences of Latu Maharaj. He could not even write the alphabet but look at his wisdom !! As Thakur said, the source of knowledge (Mother) provides all the knowledge to the sincere devotee. When Hriday used to rebuke him for taking on the high and the mighty, Thakur used to protest, " But the Mother speaks through me. What can I do? " Just as zero's have no value without the " one " , all our efforts have no value with recognising and experiencing God in our lives. It pains me when scientists say God is " unscientific. " What a horrid idea!! It is like beheading oneself. Let us have faith on our " illiterate " Thakur. In due time, and depending on our efforts he will reveal everything to us. If you cannot make that effort there is an even better option, develop love for the Holy Mother. Father may rebuke us but Mother's arms are always waiting to embrace us, in whatever way we approach her, in whatever state we approach her. Just think about her abhay bani, " Whenever you are in trouble, think that you have a Mother. " What tremendous words !! What compassionate words !!! She is always waiting to give without expecting anything in return. Like Sadashiva she is willing to take all our poisons. We need not even knock at her doors, her house is without doors, without compound walls. Regards, Jagannath.
