Guest guest
Well I was having this conversation with someone online and he comes out with this explanation to justify the Iraq war He first started of with the bhagvad gita and elaborated on Arjuna's reluctance to fight his own relatives and Shri Krishna's lecture on how one must not be afraid to do his dharma Then he went on to say that Saddam Hussein was a rakshasha who was responsible for adharma in Iraq and since america is the sole superpower (Ksthriya) it becomes its duty( dharma ) to wage war I haven't elaborated but I am sure most of you get the picture What do you all have to say of this ? Guest guest
Dear Abhay, Ksthriya's duty( dharma ) is not to wage war, but if required for the " greater good - not one's interest " , then he will not shirk from it. As to applying the Bhagvatum Gita to the present conflict, I think, although very interesting, the link proposed is too tenuous. Reason for this is that it really depends on the two things: 1) _Intentions and background for conflict._ Which is clearly explained in detail in the Bhagvat Gita and why Arjun is compelled to fight. 2) The point on _rakshasha, is really emotive._ This really depends from who's view point you are taking. Jai Shri Krishna. > > >
