Guest guest
Dear Group, Can / or would anyone like to reconcile Vivekananda's teachings with Bhudda's realisations? Having discussed this with fellows, we are trying to reconcile the two, and whether they are actually related to the point that they are the same. Breaking down our discussions, this is what we have: 1) Bhudda during samadhi, realised that the " I " or " Ego " was a illusion - Vedanta says the same. 2) After this, the dualistic 'mind / body' distinction was eliminated - Vedanta says the same. 3) Consequently, the world / universe became a 'unity' - Vedanta says the same. 4) Now, did Bhudda become aware that the world is a manifestation of out pouring of energy, from a unlimited 'Source'. 5) Through, deep meditation Bhudda could feel this 'Source in Totality'. The vedic scriptures discussing the non personal bhraman - especially in the Raja yoga element elude to similar experiences as Bhudda - in a given meditative state. It also talks about this 'Source' and 'Totality' - otherwise known as the supreme energy. Our conclusion is that it is this, " Thou art that " that Vivekananda concludes. Same as Bhudda. Your enlightened thoughts are welcome.... Jai Shri Krishna
