Guest guest
Dear All, My daughter is born on 13th September. Generally and in particular in European countries Number 13 is considered to be unlucky. But in Sikh & Jain religion, 13 is considered lucky. I personally consider 13th very lucky because I was blessed with a daughter on this day. Can anybody say why 13th is lucky or unlucky. Yours Ramesh

Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters, Hi Ramesh Its a superstition and nothing else, the fear of number 13 is called as Tridecaphobia it IS OF NO SCIENTIFIC BASIS AND has NOTING TO DO WITH SPIRITUALITY. But does make us remember Sri Guru Nanak's Love for the Lord and also how the Mahatma's minds are always ready to get ignited even with the slightest hint of the Spirit. These are the extracts from the http://www.sacred-texts.com/skh/tsr1/tsr106.htm .... Jai Ram introduced Nanak as an educated man to the Governor, Daulat Khan, who appointed him storekeeper and gave him a dress of honour as a preliminary of service. Nanak began to apply himself to his duties, and so discharged them that everybody was gratified and congratulated him. He was also highly praised to the Governor, who was much pleased with his new servant. Out of the provisions which Guru Nanak was allowed, he devoted only a small portion to his own maintenance; the rest he gave to the poor. He used continually to spend his nights siring hymns to his Creator. If Nanak, when weighing out provisions, went as far as the number thirteen--tera--he used to pause and several times repeat the word--which also means 'Thine,' that is, 'I am Thine, O Lord,'--before he went on weighing. (latter in His life, we see that in spite of all this the accounts were audited and found to be flawless!) I am sure after reading this we would love the number 13, as I have... Thanks to Ramesh for making us recall such a wonderful lila... In Our Lord, Sri Ramakrishna venu
