Guest guest
This is an excerpt from the book " Ramakrishna And the Vitality of Hinduism " by Solange Lemaitre published by (1984) Overlook Press, New York. (page 72) *************************************************************** One day Ramakrishna took a bit of the food intended for the Goddess and gave it to a starving cat. The temple custodian, outraged, went to complain to Mathur Babu. The priest of Dakshineswar described the incident thus: The Goddess disclosed to me in the temple of Kali that she had become everything. She showed me that each thing is filled with Consciousness. The statue is filled with consciousness, the cups of water are consciousness. The altar is consciousness, the threshold is consciousness. The marble floor is consciousness. Everything is consciousness. Within the room each object was bathed in divine felicity. Opposite the temple of Kali I saw a wicked man, but in him too I saw the vibration of the power of the Divine Mother. That was why I fed that cat with the food that should have been offered to the Divine Mother. I clearly saw that , everything, even the cat was the Divine Mother. ***********************************************
