Guest guest
This is an excerpt from the book " Ramakrishna And the Vitality of Hinduism " by Solange Lemaitre published by (1984) Overlook Press, New York. (page 80) *************************************************************** In 1861 Rani Rasmani went from this world into the other, and , after her death, her brother-in-law,Mathur Babu, became the sole owner of the temple. He placed his person and his fortune at Ramakrishna's disposition. As soon as th priest of Kali voiced a wish, Mathur fulfilled it. For Ramakrishna (who acknowledged the fact with gratitude) he was one of the five benefactors chosen by the Divine Mother to watch over her " child " and take care of his material existence. ..... ...... One day a Brahmin woman who was to play a major part in Ramakrishna's spiritual development appeared at Dakshineswar. Some fifty years old, still beautiful, clad in the orange robe of a sannyasin, she brought as her only belongings two garments and a few books. As soon as she saw the priest of Kali, who welcomed her with much deference, the woman, who was always known as the Bhairavi Brahmani, the Brahmin nun, began to weep. " My son " , she said " you are he after whom I have so long searched. " ***************************************************************** Om sthapakaya ca dharmasya sarva dharma swarupine Avatara varisthaya Ramakrishnaaya te namah!
