Guest guest
Friends I have a doubt on the concept of personal God. I find some writings of Christian and Islamic believers where they question our concept og God .They say that our God is not a personal God the way it is in their faith. I dont understand this statement. Can anybody, specially people from Christian or other faiths explain this, please. My view point is ,our conception of God is not the same for all levels. An ordinary folk may have an Ishtha Deva ,who might have an image and that guy shall repose all his faith, love in Him and he will always think that as having emotion, care and all. Now,how that is different from the Personal God of Christians? Think of Goplaer Ma. How was her BalGoplal any less personal than the personal God of Christians? Please explain this. Then, for the next level of the devotee,he might even think of his God as without any form but with all the Gunas(attributes like Loving, omnipotent, knower of what a person is thinking-antaryami etc) and another level can be the God without any form or attribute (without gunas and nirakar). But then all these represent one God only. So,the Christian ideal is true but is a subset of the description that a Vedantin has on dualism, monism etc. Is not it? Then, why even after all these clearly explained belief systems, some well learned people of Christian or other faiths believe that their personal God concept is simply not covered by us? Are we missing something? --Biswatosh Music Unlimited Access over 1 million songs. Try it free. http://music./unlimited/
