Dear Vinayakji,

What a wonderful post !! Thank you.

Yes, the combining of the four yogas is an unique experiment of

Swamiji. He never wanted a one track religion. As many paths as there

are people was his aim. Each man being different from another, the path

too is different even though the broader philosophy may be the same. It

is this religious freedom that is drawing people to Sri Ramakrishna in

hordes.

After reading the rules of the Math there was quite a lot of dissent

from the Gurubhai's of Swamiji who said that it differed from the

teachings of Swamiji. The concept of service did not suit many. However

Swamiji made them see reason. Later the Gurubhai's admired Swamiji's

vision as they started taking in monastic members.

A recent addition to the history of Ramakrishna Math & Mission is the

book by Revered Swami Prabhanandaji Maharaj. It is a very well

researched effort as expected from the scholar that Revered

Prabhanandaji is.

It seems Swamiji also had a vision about a Math being run by non

sannyasi bachelors. I do not remember where I have read this. There are

many dedicated bachelors working for the Mission both within and

without. It would be wonderful if such a Math came up where bachelors

could work together to fulfill Swamiji's dream for India and the world.

Regards,

Jagannath.
