Guest guest
Response to Second Item: Concerns about Hinduism: We should be proud that we were born as Hindus. Hinduism has both the religious and spiritual sides and the more we study about Hinduism, the more inspiration we derive. It is probably the only religion that has sheltered people from other religions; the only religion that calls all human beings as " immortal " ( refer to Kathopanishad) instead of referring to people as sinners; the religion that recognizes that there are various paths to reach/realize God and the religion that does not believe in conversions because it recognizes all religions as paths to God. If there are peole who discriminate on the bass of caste, sect, sex, etc. it is not the fault of our religion. It shows their narrow mindedness, bigotry and ignorance. You need proper guidance on Hindu religious and spiritual principles to realize how invaluable Hinduism is. If you live close to a Ramakrishna Mission local branch, please go there and ask a senior swami about the guiding principles of Hinduism. Also please read some good books on Hinduism and attend lectures on Hinduism. I am in the USA and here, we have been conductng classes to university students on the basics of Hinduism. You are most welcome to send your questions and comments on Hinduism topics and we will address them. You can also contact Jay who is the moderator of this group who is an excellent source of knowledge. Good luck. ---
