Guest guest
what do members of the list think of deja vu? http://uk.answers./question/index?qid=1006030217272 this website contains some interesting ideas I can't help thinking that people use the unexplainable to justify certain ideas...I'm not overly convinced that these things shouldn't be used in relation to spiritual ideas as they perhaps reduce their credibility but on the other hand what if things like deja vu, and past life memories do actually arise as a consequence of real things like reincarnation? I'd be interested in hearing your opinions from BijalSend instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.
Guest guest
Hello Bijal~ That is a very interesting question.....I'm not sure how I feel about deja vu either. I keep an open mind and look into things as deeply as I can. However, I totally believe that it is possible for people to recall past life memories....and I have read of some pretty incredible experiences. Also, I have heard of pre-birth memories and experiences....here is a link if anyone is interested. http://www.near-death.com/experiences/research01.html I send this link for contemplation and discussion only....again I remain neutral and open-minded. ) many blessings to all, Naomi
Guest guest
Hi, Myself used to have these experiences frequently until about 3-4 years back (i'm now 30 - these experiences are less frequent)...i thought i was the only one having these experiences until i asked some of my friends, who told me they had similar experiences...all of them including myself often had the experience like this: whenever i see an incident or hear something, i feel(knew) for a split second that i have seen/heard this before & remember that i had seen/heard this in a dream...but once i'm out of that second, i cannot analyze or confirm that this was true...it could have been just imagination...but during that split second i'll be absolutely certain that this was true... later when i started reading swami vivekananda, i found that swamiji also had similar experiences. Whenever he visited his friend's place, he used to feel that he has seen it/been there before...he initially thought these were past birth memories but later analyzed that he might have visualized everything just before taking birth like one watches a cinema... the friends whom i asked this question all possessed some kind of artistic capabilities...i somehow felt these experiences were outputs of an imaginative/intutive mind... Guest guest
Namaste, I guess these kind of feelings are pretty common for all of us. But it would be intereting to know the pscychological science behind it. I mean if our brain was programmed before our birth and these images were already scanned into it then I guess there should some way to decode the remaining messages and confirm th etheory. after whatever is stored in our brain or our gene is store in chemical terms. It would be interesting to know if there is any reseach being done. Thanks Monalisa
Guest guest
Many years ago I visited Dover Castle in England. I had never seen pictures of it or anything of the sort, but the moment I set foot there, I knew all about it. I walked around in a wonderful state, thrilled beyond words that I was "home". When I came across the names of ancient knights carved into a fireplace mantel, I wept. They were the names of friends, long gone. And when I climbed the steps of the tower, I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I had done so many times before. It was an enchanting experience, it came without any warning at all, and the effects lingered for days. So, as far as I am concerned, deja vu can be explained, at least in some cases, as a kind of Self memory, when the Real Me briefly allows the "current, bodily me" to have a glimpse of things as they once were.Bill
Guest guest
I thought Bills post very interesting interesting. I have a friend in Canada that has been going to a regression/past lives hypnotist. This involves being hypnotised and regressing back in your life to previous lives, the sessions are taped so you can listen to the things you actually reveal. My friend found previous lives in England going back to Victorian times, and then to Roman times. A strong case for reincarnation, but more significantly the fact that these memories still seem to be stored somewhere. On the subject of reincarnation a fascinating book is Sogyal Rinpoche's The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, it discusses all aspects of dying and reincarnation, and cites many examples of people that have been aware of the whole transition. By the way I'm staying in Dover next week with my family we only live about one hour and half from there, and will be visiting the castle!
