Guest guest
As i live near orange county, i was interested in attending the program. i inquired about the tickets and was informed that minimum admission is $250. Before the program, there will be a reception and champagnes will be served. I decided not to attend such high class concert. Sri Ramakrishna was drunk with divine love and now the society is trying to become intoxicated by drinking champagnes. I suppose each one is free to chose his spiritual goal! Guest guest
Hi Mohan, I appreciate your decision of not attending the Orange County play. Sri Ramakrishna was the symbol of simple faith and simple living. He was the deliverer of poor and His disciple Swami Vivekananda never resorted to pomp and show. He once wrote to his disciple Alasinga Perumal that "If people accuse me of shunning chastity and poverty (in the foreign shores), then tell them that they are big liars". Swami Vivekananda revered Lord Buddha terming Him as "Daridrasya Narayana" (Lord of the Poors). It is unfortunate that some people make use of emotions of common masses towards these great souls who lived the lives of poverty and among the poors. It is understandable that, for attracting people who are innocent of religious chastity and simplicity, we may arrange shows with litttle attractive outward decorations, so that first they would be interested and then get involved, but that too, must be within limits.
