Guest guest
Excerpted from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna p.103 Friday 29/9/06 The Master Said: " The rishis of old attained the Knowledge of Brahman. One cannot have this so long as there is the slightest trace of worldliness. How hard the rishis laboured ! Early in the morning they would go away from the hermitage, and would spend the whole day in solitude, meditating on Brahman. At night they would return to the hermitage and eat a little fruit or roots. They kept their mind aloof from the objects of sight, hearing, touch, and other things of a worldly nature. Only thus did they realize Brahman as their own inner conciousness. " om tat sat ~~~~~~ om shanthi om~~~~~~
Guest guest
hello karol i hope someone else will be able to answer your question. i am not sure why we are given both good and evil tendencies. perhaps when our perception changes a little bit we might be able to see why. or perhaps it doesn't matter as much as we think - and everything is perfect the way it is but we just don't see it quite right? it is a difficult question, i think. maybe if we can't understand - it is better not to try to think too much about it until the answer is revealed to us (either by inspiration or someone on this board) :-). all the very best to you elly
