Guest guest
I think conquering lust and remaining celibate are 2 different things. One can remain celibate throughout your life but can have lust inside the mind all along. However, conversely, I am not sure if it is possible to have physical relation perfectly detached. Swami Yogananda, another favourite disciple of Sri Ramakrishna was another example of one who married and later embraced Sanyasa. About him Swamiji remarked that of all the disciples of Thakur, Yogen is the one who is most devoid of sex-consciousness ! With prayers, Nikhil Ramakrishna , Chetan Merani <meranicv wrote: > > Friends, > Namaskrs. > Amongst Sri Ramakrishna's disciples there were some who were life >long celibates though married: Swami Shivanada was married before he >took sanyas and lived with his wife, but remained celibate; and that is >why Swami Vivekananda called him 'Mahapurush'. Guest guest
dear friends and devotees, We can give a few examples of Sri Ramakrishna's disciples who were celibate. However one should take account that they could remain so altough married only through the grace of their guru, Sri Ramakrishna. In fact, Sri Ramakrishna himself used to warn his inner circle to be careful from woman and gold in order to achieve the Highest. I feel for those who live in the present world which is full of worldiness, it is not easy to be a married celibate or a celibate throughout life
