Guest guest
Hinduism at Muslim College London (22nd May 2007) As part of a postgraduate course in world religions, the Muslim college in London allows Hinduism to be presented on its premises. It is a marvellous example of how very innovative ideas are being tried out on the London scene. The warm and positive response such sessions create is visible in the faces of the Muslim students. The sessions consist of academic study of Hinduism that dispel serious misconceptions about Hinduism and introduction of the more dynamic teachings of Hinduism like religious pluralism and spiritual humanism that offer the best prescription of how people of different religions (or no-religion) can co-exist in a spirit of harmony. Focused academic study of world religions like this is one of the best ways of promoting community cohesion. jay Vivekananda Centre London
Guest guest
jay: What exciting news -- it leads me to ponder the great benefit of a " world religion " course offered in all colleges (worldwide), indeed, not as an elective but as a required course. As humanity enters this age of globalization, we all need a fundamental understanding of each other's spiritual beliefs and values. This fundamental understanding represents the bedrock of religious pluralism. It would be interesting if you would initiate such a concept, possibly with the first step being the development of the ciriculum of such a course, in collaboration with qualified colleagues from each of the world's great religions. Thank you for your inspiring message. Jai Ramakrishna, Brad
Guest guest
Very well said brother, very well said. Spreading true knowledge of various faiths and practices seems only way to get over current misapprehensions in the mind of educated persons young and old alike. We wish you all success, Jay, in this noble effort. Regards Chetan
