Guest guest
Namaste: Does anyone know if Ramakrishna, or a disciple, ever spoke about the age at which a child should be taught meditation by the parents? Thank you, Brad
Guest guest
Dear Brad, As per Hindu tradition the child is allowed entry into the world of religious activity after the thread ceremony. The minimum age for this is eight years. I don't remember Sri Ramakrishna saying anything in this regard. Swamiji, as we all know, started meditating from a very early age (the snake incident). Swami Bhuteshanandaji in his book " Mantra Diksha " , speaks against the recent phenomenon of devotees asking for their children's initiation at a very early age. According to him the child must understand the significance of initiation and be able to follow the instructions after initiation. I do not remember exactly (anybody can please correct me) but he said the age of 12 or 13 to be the minimum requirement. Love & Regards, Jagannath. Guest guest
Dear All, May I kindly request the group members, if possible to provide me a picture of Swami Buteshanandaji. Or any web site/link from where I can download the same. I would like to keep my Guru Maharaj photo in my PC.
