Guest guest
Dear Russ: As Ramakrishna explained, we are what we think we are -- our thoughts are very powerful. Indeed, they are the only Reality. Therefore, happiness or sadness, etc., are states of mind, not states of physical condition or material circumstance. We can be happy even though the world may be collapsing around us and, conversely, we can be sad even though we have just won the lottery -- the only thing that matters is what our thoughts are telling us. Therefore, when we think of God, through the practice of japa, prayer, meditation, worship, holy company, holy service, spiritual reading or discrimination (between real and unreal), we accomplish three things: 1) We are no longer dwelling on negative thoughts, 2) We are now dwelling on positive thoughts, and 3) We are seeking and receptive to God's grace. Namaste, Brad PS - It's OK to be angry with God - He's tough, He can take it. Sooner or later, however, you'll discover that you're actually angry with yourself.
