Guest guest
The work of Hindu Academy the Vivekananda Centre continues as under:- Universities: This year the number of Universities we will be interacting with will go up from 12 to 20. All these talks will be screened and broadcast on aastha which is now free and on sky 807. Aastha already hold about 20 hour of tapes of talks at Universities and Hindu Organisations round the country. Times: Sunday mornings from 10am to 11am and Saturday evenings from 9.30 to 10pm. In the next two months we have seminars planned for Post Graduate students at: Sheffield Hallam, Canterbury ChristChurch, University of East London, Surrey University/Guildford Cathedral, Kent Teachers, University of Wales and Lampater University. Eton: We are developing two major Inter-faith initiatives at Eton which will have far reaching influence in days to come. These are serious projects and not superficial joint-meetings of faiths. SACREs: We gave out our textbooks freely to All London SACREs at a recent meeting to ensure that a more comprehensive vision of Hinduism becomes visible in all schools in London. GCSE in Hinduism (and all religions ) is being reviewed at the moment -- we have made strong presentations to the awarding bodies to ensure that the correct version of Hinduism becomes visible. In the academic fields we are making major moves via Religious Education Council , QCA, Edexcel, OCR, NASACRE and many of the local SACREs. India: A senior member of the Birla family talked to us at length yesterday saying it is time to export the dynamic version of Hinduism that is visible through our work in the UK back to India.
