Guest guest
Lex Hixon holds joint citizenship in several sacred worlds. e received a Doctorate of Philosophy and Religion from Columbia University. His "Great Swan" is really a great work on Sri Ramakrishna's life & message. The book is available in India, published by "Motilal Banarsidas Publishers Pvt Ltd, Delhi" (ISBN81-208-1297-7). This is no doubt a book of worth reading. yours, Debashis Ghosh, Sr Librarian, IRIMEE12/DEF Golf Road, East ColonyJAMALPUR - 811 214 Munger, Bihar, India Tel: 91-6344-243184 (Work); Fax: 91-6344-243293Tel: 91-6344-242426 (Res); Cell: 91-94312 36812 --- On Fri, 7/25/08, Tarak Guha <tarakguha wrote: Tarak Guha <tarakguha[sri Ramakrishna] Great Swan: Meetings with Ramakrishna by Lex HixonRamakrishna Date: Friday, July 25, 2008, 7:59 PM Hi All, Have anyone of you read the book Great Swan: Meetings with Ramakrishna by Lex Hixon. Please let me know about this book and the author. Guest guest
I read this book, and it has some moments that are nice, but it is thought to be not scrupulously honest, as there is at least one event depicted which apparently never happened which is Ramakrishna dancing with Sri Sarada Devi. This opinion was shared with me by a long-time senior nun, a devotee of Swami Prabhavananda at the Santa Barbra Convent/temple here in S.
