Guest guest
What is said about Sri Ramakrishna's interest in food is not mentioned in any of his, or Sri Sarda Devi's life history published by Ramakrishna Mission. It is unlikely to be true. Authoritative life written by Swami Sardananda, his direct disciple also has no mention in it. What is mentioned is that during his sadhana period, it did happen once that he had urge to eat all the time. (He did not have any disciples at that time. They came much later.)This was diagnosed as a side effect of a sadhana by Sadhavi Bhairavi who had come to guide his Tantrik Sadhana. She got this ailment cured in three days by keeping variety of dishes in his room, so that he can eat what he wants and when he wants. His meals were cooked by Holy Mother in her living area in Nahabat, which was a short distance away from the room where he lived. He rarely visited this place. So there was no kitchen as such which he could visit to find out what is being cooked for the day. The symptoms for his approaching Mahasmadhi were told to Holy mother, but these are all afferent than what is mentioned in this story. What others who personally never lived near Sri Ramakrishna say about him, cannot be relied upon unless it is corroborated by those who lived with Sri Ramakrishna.
