A One-Day Retreat for Spiritual Practice and Discussion of Spiritual

Ideas

PROGRAM: 9:30 A.M. – 9:30 P.M. (Lunch & supper provided)

All day program of meditation, discussion, works of service, and sharing

(Limited overnight accommodations and further programs available for

those who can stay the

previous and the following nights)

 

Morning: Interactive Discussion in small groups on the topic:

" Methods of Spiritual Practice " .

Leaders: Rev. Heng Sure, Berkeley Buddhist Monastery and City of Ten

Thousand Buddhas, Ukiah

Arife Ellen Hammerle, Ph. D., International Association

of Sufism

Swami Prabuddhananda, Vedanta Society

Midday: Two-hour period of community service work for the Retreat.

Afternoon: Group walk to a ridge-top forest, followed by meditation and

informal discussion.

Evening: Review of the day's events; Videos of a spiritual nature;

Concluding discussions.

 

Extra programs available for those who stay the previous and the

following nights:

Friday evening: Readings from several spiritual traditions followed by

meditation.

Saturday early morning: Meditation

Sunday morning: Interfaith religious service consisting of devotional

singing, chanting,

prayers, readings and meditation with participation by all those

attending.

 

No charge, but advance reservations are required.

Note on Accommodations: For those who can stay overnight, the women's

retreat house can

accommodate a maximum of 16 women and the men's retreat house can

accommodate 12 men. Please

reserve early. Please bring bedding and towels, as well as food for your

own supper Friday night. Other

meals will be provided. Also, please bring some inspiring material from

your own spiritual

tradition to be read to all, and for use at the interfaith service

Sunday morning.
