Guest guest
Today we offered our input to the government think-tank researcher looking at the role of religious education in faith schools both in the private and public sectors. If faith schools wish to generate genuine community cohesion they must re-evaluate not only the way they promote religious teachings - but what religious teachings they are promoting. If the teachings are divisive (for example suggesting that unless a person s to that particular religion or movement within their religion - they are doomed) then they are counter-productive to the greater society and there is no reason why a secular state should fund such teachings.
