Guest guest
Metropolitan Police Hindu Association held its Diwali event this evening. A presentation was made on the importance of Protecting Dharma. The threat to Dharma can come from outside but more importantly serious threats come from within. Hinduism prides itself in being a living ~ constantly evolving, religion but it pays a price for this feature. The price is abuse of its openness. A whole host of cults ride its back promoting gimmicks by leaders who are sometimes self-deluded and in many cases out to delude. Who should monitor the situation? It has to be the individual Hindus who have to be more discerning and responsible. All democracies depend on discerning concerned individuals. Dharma represents spiritual democracy and that too needs protecting. If the Hindus sit back and do nothing then their enterprise is open to being hijacked by the wrong elements.
