Hari Om Ramakrishna

Dear Devotees

Pranam,

As most of the Devotees know, Ms. Margaret Elizabeth Nobel, the disciple of Swamij, who is known in India as Sister Nivedita, had learnt Bengali and conversed with the Holy Mother in Bengali. This one is to show how deep Her devotion was.

One of Her favourite Bengali expression was "Go Dhuli Bela" which literally means “Cow Dust Time†and signifies dusk, when cows return from the grazing fields and clouds of dust cover the silhouette; the dust from the stamping of the hooves on the dry ground. This is as far a poetic mind can go.

However, I know that it went much farther in Her case - She liked it not only for its poetic beauty but it would have stretched Her imagination to Gopala, the Boy Krishna, returning home with those cows and the cowherd boys.
