Guest guest
Hari Om Ramakrishna Dear Devotees, Pranam, Could someone please provide the reports or letters that confirm the following incidents during Swamiji’s visit to the west: 1. Swamiji spends a winter night inside a wooden box (Toronto?). This is a very popular story. He had nowhere to go to. There is no mention of it anywhere in any of the reports or in any of His letters 2. Swamiji was called upon by cowboys to prove His fearlessness (USA) We know that Swamiji had interacted with one cow boy while in a train who called Him a heathen. This story is about the cowboys asking Him to stand on a soap box in a lecture hall and started shooting with the lights switched off. When the lights were switched on Sawmiji was seen standing unperturbed as before and the cowboys acknowledged that He was truly fearless. 3. Swamiji called the Scot man a sot (UK) This is a story about a Scot man (anglo Indian) who had served in India and knew the word baboo which is used in Bengalis as an equivalent of Mr. or Sir. He wanted to deride Swamiji by asking Him as to what is the difference between a baboo and a baboon to which Swamiji replied that the difference is the same as between a Scot and a sot (drunkard) 4. Swamiji outdid soldiers in shooting skill (USA) The story is about Swamiji being challenged by a group of soldiers standing over a culvert bridge to shoot at an egg lying on the ground below, which they were trying in vain for some time and which Swamiji had witnessed and laughed at. Lo and behold Swamiji’s aim was perfect – He did shoot the egg. Wah Guru Ki Fateh
