WORKSHOP ON LAW ENFORCEMENT “Rays of Radiance Prof Anil.Kumar

========================================================

For the first time, a workshop on Law Enforcement was conducted for police officers in Prashanthi Nilayam. With Baba’s blessings and permission, classes for the officers were conducted in two batches for two days, each from March 14, 2002 to March 17,2002.

The Superintendent and Deputy Inspector General of Police of Anantapur too participated in the workshop. Sri Nimish Pandya and Dr.Pitre of Sathya sai organization, Bombay, took part in this workshop.

From Swami’s organization, the privelge of participation was given to Dr. G.Venkatraman and to me. Swami kindly gave a message for both the batches. I had the good fortune of listening to Swami’s message for the second batch. I shall outline a few points in the message.

“Life is like a clock. Our days can be compared to the second hand, months to the minute’s hand, and years to the hour hand. Our life is very precious; we can earn money that is lost. If one’s wife dies, one me remarry. If you loose a friend you can still make new friends. But, once lost, life cannot be regained.

Therefore, we must make good use our life. Wealth, gold, possessions, and vehicles are of no importance. The mind can be compared to a daily newspaper. We consider today’s newspaper very important. But the next day, we use it to pack some snack like the pakodi. After two days its value is greatly diminished. The paper acquires the smell of whatever is packed in it.

If jasmine flowers are packed, it acquires the fragrance of Jasmine. If dried fish are packed, it requires their foul smell. In the same way, our hearts become polluted by the bad thoughts we harbor. When a bad thought enters, do not implement it immediately. You should take some time to consider it, the tongue as an ideal. Even as the tongue coexists among sharp teeth, so should we learn to lead a cautious life? If the tongue is not alert, our own teeth will bite it. Still we never punish the teeth. Why? Because even as the tongue belongs to us, our teeth too belong to us.

We should cultivate a similar attitude of forgiveness. Nobody else is responsible for our troubles. Our own thoughts are the root cause of everything that happens to us.

We will continue on this subject in Swami’s words.
