Many city associations are organising padyatras to Shirdi and will also be holding grand feast to commemorate the completion of their journeys on return. The arduous journey with distance of over 300 km is covered walking by devotees in a huge group. Members carrying palanquin consisting photos and footprints of Sai Baba will be taken to his shrine in Shirdi. "We began our journey from Nerul's sector 18 on October 23. We will reach Shirdi on October 29 and for that, we will have to cover at least 35 km daily. On the last day, we will be covering 39 km and during these days, we rest along roads," said secretary of Chatrapati Kala Krida Sanskrutik Pratishtan, Shivaji Phadtare.Scores of Sai Devotees undertake this laborious task and relate a feeling that's close to absolute contentment and bliss towards the end of the journey. Vehicles carrying daily essential and luggage accompany the troupe during the padyatra. "This is the third year that we are conducting this yatra. So, we are well versed with the region and rest places. We inform police stations and medical practitioners about our itinerary to ensure we receive sufficient security and health care," said Phadtare. The members of the troupe, wearing similar t-shirts, recite slogans of Om Sai during their journey. With special entry gates allotted for the padyatra devotees, the pain of having covered long distance gets completely overlooked. "We have direct access to the shrine. We first go to the temple where Sai Baba is believed to have made his first visit, the Khandoba temple. Then we place the palanquin in front of the idol of Sai Baba and seek his blessings. On the following day, we will return on a vehicle and prepare for hosting a grand feast on November 5 for the devotees of Sai Baba from the city," concluded Phadtare.Source - http://www.3dsyndication.com/showarticlerss.aspx?nid=zJenD7SIN4BzFTys4y5eGANRCyjYJz3dPulsyZqhVBUC/GmE=“ You can find the Footprints of God,wherever there is Virtue, Humility, Justice, Truth, Love & Peace.â€....
