Swami's Divine Lesson - Always Respect your Parents

Many years back A Certain Student of Swami's Institute in Parthi who is a Dear Friend of mine was called by Swami for 4 interviews over a period of a month, He was very happy as every person would be, Suddenly after a Week, Swami stopped talking to him for days together, The boy tried to give letters to Bhagawan who did not even look at him.

 

After a Few days in the Portico of the Prasanthi Mandir, Swami called the warden and also the Boy And told him that If he did not go home for the upcoming Holidays to his House, He could leave the College Forever. Swami told the warden that the boy's parents had written to Swami saying that Their Son was not writing to them and that He had forgotten them, Swami made the Boy write a letter in front of everyone to his parents and told the warden to get it posted, Swami then wonderfully and beautifully said that " If anyone in Swami's Institutions did not respect their parents and do anything that would hurt them, they can leave the Institute and go home and Swami would never look at them again, However Brilliant they might be".

 

This is only one of the many examples which Go to show as to how much importance Swami's Gives to Respecting one's parents and Elders.
