Guest guest Posted November 14, 2009 Report Share Posted November 14, 2009 IRCTC South Zone plans Winter Bharat Darshan ToursGreeshma Gopal Giri13 Nov 2009 08:47:34 AM ISTCHENNAI : As the scorching summer has cooled down, the south zone of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd has made plans for winter packages to cash in on the good weather, which is rare here.The packages are planned for South India with the boarding point being Chennai, and have kept in mind the popular choices of tourists.The renewed Tirupathy, Sabarimala and Madurai-Rameswaram-Kanyakumari packages and the leisure trips to scenic spots in Kerala are the most sought after train tours operated by the south zone, says V Sriram, Regional Director, IRCTC.The new three-days-four-nights winter packages from Chennai will take you to a range of places, including Ooty, Kodaikanal, Madurai, Rameswaram, Kanyakumari, Theni, Courtrallam, Palani, Tiruchendur, Pollachi, Valparai, Cochin, Munnar, Alleppey, Kumarakom, Thekkady, Kovalam, Wayanad, Mysore, Coorg, Bangalore and Mookambika.Four Bharat Darshan Tours will also be conducted in the next two months, namely the Chennai-Ahobilam-Shirdi-Mantralayam-Navabrindavanam, the Madurai-Trivandrum-Ernakulam-Goa-Jaipur-Delhi-Agra-Hyderabad, the Madurai-Chennai-Vijayawada-Guruvayur-Kodungalur-Chootanikara-Madurai-Rameswaram and the Madurai-Chennai-Hyderabad-Ajantha-Ellora and Goa packages.L Ravikumar, Deputy General Manager, said about 3000 people in a month opt for the train tour packages, especially the Bharat Darshan Tour package.
