21ST NOVEMBER 2009 DARSHAN UPDATE(CONVOCATION DRAMA)

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family,

This day(22thNovember) will be remembered for its excellence, for its happiness, for its bliss that was experienced by the thousands assembled in the Sai Kulwanth Hall. This morning Swami preferred to stay indoors.

This afternoon, every one were looking forward to much talked convocation drama.Sai Kulwanth hall was fully packed to its brim and there was not even an inch space outside. the latest on the ashram, next time when you come to Parthi, don't be surprised to see a gate just before you reach Ganesha gate..A new gate was inaugarated today (photo attached), which is placed inbetween Ganesha and Subramanyam. As you come from the bus station it is the first one. That is the new entry gate and the regular Ganesha gate is exit gate now..

back to the programme, Swami came at 4:45 pm amidst veda chanting. Swami blessed a little girl before entering the hall.

After a full darshan round, Swami went to the bhajan hall and checked with the boys who were in the drama and made sure everything was fine.

Swami, always makes sure everything is perfect and the drama started at 5:30pm. Seeing the students dressed like Krishna and other mythological characters every one thought it would be yet another mythological drama but all the expectations were turned down and then started a beautiful drama by the students of our beloved Lord.

This year's convocation drama "Vidya Amritam" was a masterpiece.. That showed the POWER of the Sai Students, This drama showed the inspiration, all the students draw from Swami. This drama came from the sanctum sanctorium of the students' hearts and this was nothing but Swami's pure unsullied love for them.

Swami who had already witnessed the rehearsal of this play few days ago in the college, was so much immersed in the drama as if He was seeing it for the first time. Swami was so much immersed in the play that it was a TREAT to see Swami's emotions and playfull signals to the students in the drama....

The opening scene started with two boys introducing the drama. The first brother starts in english and the next one is waiting for his turn .. Swami looking at the second brother with a beautiful smile signs when are you going to speak. Poor brother, bit shy smiled back at Swami and waited for his turn and then he introduced the drama in telugu..

The story is about a scientist Prof. Gururaj who after reading Swami's Vidya Vahini gets inspired and opens up a school infact Gurukul in his native village. He makes this school very unique by bringing Swami's teachings into the curriculam and educating the poor and needy students who are other wise devoid of quality education.

When some one asks the Professor as why he established this kind of free school with moral education instead of going to foreign countries earning big money. The Professor replies the main inspirer of his life is His divine Master Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba whom he became a devotee after reading His teachings.

Listening to these words a student Gnani asks why he is so confident about his students and how it is possible for them to excel. Then the Professor tells Gnani, don't underestimate your self. Have faith in God and one day you will be in a position to run this school. talking about Faith the scene now moves to the story of Prahalada.

Years pass by and the Professor is now a old man. The post man who used to deliver the letters to the school asks the professor to help his son to do his medicine course. The Professor without waiting a second promises the postman that he will pay for his son's medical education which is a very expensive affair. Aditya an aluminus of the same institution sees this and asks the Professor as why he promised to help the postman's child and also warns the Professor that they will be left with nothing if he keeps helping every one like that..The Professor who had so much belief in Swami replies that it is Swami's institute and He will take care.

The small school now is a big institution. Number of students pass from the school and many get benefitted and at one stage the school now is in short of funds.. The bank loans get accumulated.They get a notice from the bank saying if they don't pay the loan, the property will be seized which means the closure of the school which was of great help to the poor and needy.The bank gives a month time..every one in the management (which consists of ex students like Aditya, Abdul) are all tense.Then they get an offer from some business men.. They promise to pay all the loans and save the school.Every one in the school management think that it is Swami who lend the helping hand. the deal is they should run the school but with a fees.The busines men also offers to make the school look more modern with modern amenities like swimming pool outer decoration etc.. The business men say we will get our money, bank loan will also

be paid.The business men leave the premises giving them a month's time to decide..

They all mistake it is as Swami's message. Professor now says to his colleagues..why did we start this institute?.. our target is the poor people. This saraswathi (Goddess of Education) nilayam is now transforming into lakshmi(Goddess of wealth) nilayam..

Aditya says master has become old and when Swami has send the people why you are not agreeing.. Master gets hurt for being called as old..

Here comes the main scene.. Then he prays (in the play), Swami please, I think that I have become old. all my children feel the same.. Swami pls help.. pls give me solutoin.. dont want to change saraswathi nilayam into lakshmi nilayam. In the drama, the scene gets so emotional that the brother(Mr.Sidhanth) who was playing the role was so much involved in the drama that he started crying. Every one seated there in Sai Kulwanth hall were so touched by the dialogue delivery and Swami was also moved to see this kind of acting and immediately the DIVINE hand made three big circles in the air to manifest a dazzling golden chain fresh from the divine factory,to that fortunate soul.. Swami took some time to slip in the chain around the brother's neck while the drama audio was still running

The brother after getting the divine gift, gets back to the drama and the scene now is he writes a letter addressing the college committe members saying it is against our principles to put the school in the hands of business minded people. it is not right decision to accept the deal from the busines man. so writing he leaves the letter on his table and leaves the premises of Gnana Vahini with a heavy heart..

Just then Aditya comes to apologise and is surprised to see the letter and after reading it they feel very sad.. They had some doubt that they were doing something wrong and it was not what Swami wants.. but they didnt see any other option.. on the last day of the month, they all have discussion.. looks like the school is going away from our hands, the children are leaving the schools to join in other schools... just then the busines men come and seeing their dilemma they say you can also have a moral education , and we will have five free seats for poor people..Just when he was going to sign the deal the master comes.. the business men force Aditya to sign and the busines man says what will you do and what will your Swami do?miracles won't happen every day

Aditya replies with Swami every second is a miracle.Just then an alumunus of the same institute Gnani comes and introduces himself to the Professor.. saying Master Iam Your Gnani.. He says after studying here I joined Sathya Sai university and I was sitting right infront of Swami yesterday in Puttaparthi... I was asking Swami I have acquired all the wordly positions, wealth and now I want to do some service.. what service can I do? Swami threw one letter and the letter was the same letter that you wrote in your room. this is one of the schools which gave me life.. I thought it is Swami's message and immediately came here to settle all the money you owe to the bank. Just then the post man comes with a letter, that was a letter written by Swami Himself saying Bangaru all these days you have done My work, now I will do your work..Swami also expresses happiness about school and promises to visit this school very soon.

to which even the business men are amused and go speechless for the miracle..

The drama had some beautiful songs in between and when there was the scene of Sudama and Sri Krishna Swami was very emotional to see the love of Sudama for Krishna..

Later the students sang the bhajan Sai Humara Hum Sai Ke and Humko Tum se pyar kitna.. when the lines meedi maadi oke bandamu was sung, Swami joined in chorus and was very expressive when we all sang meedi maadi oke bandamu adiye prema bandamu (our bond is that of pure love)..

It was almost 7:30 pm when arathi was given to Swami and after arathi all the three campuses of Swami said in one voice WE LOVE YOU SWAMI.. to which Swami with a twinkle in His eyes and a dimple on His rosy cheeks with a sweet smile said very softly looking at His students, I LOVE YOU TOO... What a mesmerising scene it was.. This scene between the Creator and the Created looked as if of a fairy tale.. His love for His students is matchless and always in ABUNDANCE.. Every student who has passed from this holy institute have some most amazing moments like this with their divine chancellor and the present students had a drop of that nectarine sweetness which will help them to lead the rest of their life with Swami and just Swami in their hearts..

This was a pleasant evening which was full of love and also a strong message for the ex-students among whom quite a few are drifting aside from the Sai Path to know that they are the blessed ones to be chosen and given the highest form of education and this is the right time for them to give back the same to the society..
