CHAPTER 27 The

company you keep will exhibit the character, and virtues you develop.

Always stay amongst those who fear the results of karma and who live in

the omnipresence of the Lord. The dual lives you lead today, one when

alone, you think of My presence, and the other, when you live your life

attached to the world, will make God as inconsistent in your lives as

your sadhana or spiritual efforts. Choose one! Choose Me! You

must seek the company of the Lord in those who constantly live with

Him. Yes! You, too, will then become My life partner, forever. When you

constantly think of Him, then life will become a continuous prayer of

life itself. Yes, no formal rituals are necessary, when I become the

ritual of your daily routines. A few minutes spent with God will keep

the mind calm only for that period of time. But that is merely teasing

the tongue with the taste, and making no promise to feed it a meal. The

sweetness of God must be tasted, at all times, and only then, will that

sweetness reflect to become you. When the plug is loosely attached to

the source, the current will not stay constant. It is only when the

plug is firmly attached, will the current flow to illumine the

surrounding area. When you, too, make and break contact, the light of

God will only be a passing flicker. Make

every moment precious, make every moment God. Worship your duty,

worship your service, worship your sacrifice, and worship all the good

and all the bad as God, for the good in you will remain, and the fire

of negativeness in you will burn, too, to become God. Know at every

point that each step of yours is predetermined by Him; every pleasure

you enjoy has been given to you by Him; every obstacle you face has

been challenged by Him, and every opportunity of your contact with Him

has been His grace, His compassion for you, and His love to bring you

back to Him. Remember,

the path of God and the path of the "I" can never cross. Oil will never

dissolve in water for however long you may stir. The oil is ego that

will always float over the self, submerging it with its layer of

impurity. The time will come when this scum of impurities will disgust

you, and only then, My dears, will the need to transform come. The

feeling to change, must come from you, the change will come only with
