Sairam !

I have read your mail and I found how much difficulty you have faced in your residential permit to stay in puttaparthi. I can say with surity that no police inside the ashram behaves like that. As all the staff inside the ashram are devoted to Swami everybody there behaves very obligingly.

If you want to stay in puttaparthi for one year you have to apply for 1 year visa in Indian Embassy if you are a holland citizen. This information I have got from my sister who is in California and she has dual citizenship.

Whatever, be the reason, your faith in Swami should never change. You have written, "My faith in Baba may shake like hell if that's the correct phrase."

If you are a real Swami's devotee, you should not feel like that. I have also so many problems in my life but our faith should never shake. I think you have not approched the correct person. You should seek the help of some foreign devotees who is inside the prasanthi nilayam. For that you can go to the foreign accomodation centre and ask the right person for your help.

I am giving you the below 2 links , in case for your help :-

If,after this, you are not getting the permit, consider it is the WILL of Swami and alsways remember infront of our desires HIS WILL IS IMPORTANT and LET IT HAPPEN if Swami is everything for you !

It's been a long while since i posted. I have lived in Puttaparthi along period and came back in Holland in Dec. 2008. Nowadays i seem to beso upset :(. I don't say that i wasn't upset in Parthi to, but now thati'm living in my mother's flat, i'm in a (extra) mental unhealthysituation. My faith in Baba may shake like hell if that's the correctphrase. Yet i'm intended to go back, getting some rest, doing my own"works" and seeïng what happens further there. I would spare somelonger and may leave in February or March this year. I would be able toeffort a stay for 1 year in Parthi. If this is possible, isquestionable, as the visa rules seem to sharpen. When i was there icould get a residential permit from the superintendent of police ofBangalore. First i did this with Ahmed Travel (if i spell correctly) andlater with Selma Vani, if i write it well. That time Ahmed Travel saidthat they (he probably

meant the FRO office of Bangalore) started askingfor a copy of a fly ticket. Then someone told me about Selma Vani, wherei went to. He didn't need a copy of a fly ticket to get a residentialpermit for me. He also turned out to be cheaper. I wonder if it's stillpossible to get a residential permit from him (from Bangalore). Usuallyhe could do it for 1 year, but on a moment it could only be 6 months. Ithink he or someone who works there, said that had to do with jealousy(possibly from Andhra Pradesh). Later a policeman said that this permitwas only valid in Karnataka. This was a policeman who was inside theashram, possibly known as the superintendent of Anantapur, someone whocomes there once a week. Does anyone have more clarification on this to?

Hi Usha,

I'm late in answering back on your message, but thanks for replying. Earlier i was writing this text, but did not yet finish it till today, so here i give my reply.

I have only the Dutch citizenship and from what i have understood, a visa longer than 6 months is not possible for a non-Indian, although the US may be an exception with their long visa's. Earlier i emailed the embassy of Belgium, because on their site they mentioned a 1-year-touristvisa, but they answered that this visa is normally granted to Indians.

"As all the staff inside the ashram are devoted to Swami everybody there behaves very obligingly."

I would say i have experienced something very different, but i don't say that all are behaving unkind there.

Going inside the ashram is no option for me, because they threw me out! Not long before my departure, i had been to that policeman, but maybe only because my mother urged me to go with her inside the ashram and i had a problem. The man sent us to Delhi, where i would go to get an exit permit to leave India. This may be a bit long story, but in any case i was waiting for a new residential permit that was never going to come. It was paid and the passport had been given and given back, but it went wrong. This was not with Selma Vani however. This was by someone who would have done the same for more people inside the ashram (from what i remember), to get longer stays. It is said that more people didn't get their permits from him, while they were waiting for it in the same period.

The way how i found out about Selma Vani, was from what i remember, through a foreign woman and i think she told me that she had been getting these permits from him for years. As times can change, i wondered if it's still possible and also to get clarification about why the policeman of the ashram says that it's only valid in Karnataka, when that woman was apparently doing it for years without problems.

It's easy to say that our faith should never shake, but what happens when you're going through the worst and Baba seemed to have ignored you, dumped you, even saying or showing contradictable things in one way or the other, while in your (spiritual) experiences it was (very) different. It may not be a very easy thing to explain in a few words, but definately things have happened that affected me greatly. I do actually feel good or neutral today.

I find however recognition in your point of view when you say..

"If,after this, you are not getting the permit, consider it is the WILL of Swami and alsways remember infront of our desires HIS WILL IS IMPORTANT and LET IT HAPPEN if Swami is everything for you !"

I also believe that things will happen easily or with not too much difficulty, when it has to happen. I believe in the spiritual ways. If i feel or notice an obstacle, i could take it as a sign that i should not do something.

Regards,

Olga
