Guest guest
AUM SAI RAM ‘The Lord grants you bliss and joy forever. He cannot be won by scholarship, pompous vows or colorful rituals. Surrender your heart to Him. He desires nothing else from you’-BABA-Thought for the Day-25/01/2010. In October last, Sobha, a fervent devotee of Baba, called me to find out whether I was going to Parthi. Moved by her unconditional and unequivocal love for Our Sweet Lord and to bask in the Divine Darshan for Christmas, she had booked her air-ticket for Parthi. She was soon to find out that she was the only Mauritian devotee leaving for Bangalore on that particular flight which was reaching its destination at 03.00 in the morning. Apprehensive, she was looking for a travel companion for the early morning cab drive from the International Airport to the ashram. Unfortunately, I was not going, nor did I know of any devotee who was travelling by that flight. Nevertheless, Sobha was resolute to leave for the rendezvous with the Lord of Parthi, no matter what the consequences. ‘What’s the odds?’ Sobha wondered, ‘when Baba resides in my heart!’ How very true! On Christmas Day, following Vedic Chanting by foreign devotees, Prof Anil Kumar announced that Baba was very, very happy with the devotees. As a token of His Overwhelming Love for His devotees, Baba asked His seva-dals to distribute 120,000 rosaries of 108 beads ‘japa malas’ in tiny pouches to all the ladies present, including devotee Sobha. She was full of bliss and joy! But this is not the end of Sobha’s story… When she reached her room and opened her pouch, she found, to her utter dismay, that her bead-string was color brown like the common ‘japa mala’, whereas others had beads of mesmerizing yellow and cheerful blue .She was heart- broken and she reproached Swami for failing to give to her the color of her choice, namely blue. Later, in the Western Canteen, all the ladies were proudly displaying their beautiful bead-strings worn round their neck. Sobha pouted and moaned in silence. She kept her rosary in its pouch and prayed earnestly -'If it were blue, Swami, I would wear it round my neck too!’ On the same night, she opened the pouch to remove the rosary for the Evening Prayer and guess what?! Our Most Compassionate Lord had unfolded yet another of His Leelas! The color of the beads had changed from brown to violet blue, filling the heart of Sobha with Ecstasy.
