Mumbai to Shirdi Helicopter Service to Start within a Year PratahkalFriday 29th Jan`2010 Mumbai : After a Cabinet Meeting held yesterday, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan said that a Helicopter project to Shirdi was discussed. He

added, that all Sai Devotees would be benefited a lot by this Helicopter service between Mumbai and Shirdi, which is expected to start within a year. Also, in this Meeting the Board of Ministers have decided to build a New Helipad in Shirdi andFive places in Mumbai ie, Nariman Point, Cuffe Parade, Breach Candy, Bandra and Navi Mumbai, for which the approval from all the related ministries would duly be taken.Apart from this, courtesy the Maharashtra Government, work at the Airport on 500 acres of Kakdi village, 14 km from Shirdi, is also underway at a cost of 30 crores and is expected to become operational by 2012. Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has also suggested to the Shirdi Sai Sansthan, to contribute Rs 50 crore towards this Airport
