Prof Kasturi (Come under light)

Once kasturi said I was sitting in white field in the varandah . Swami was there with some college boys students and others. Swami wanted me to speak to students.

 

I was sitting in a corner where there was not much light. I had ash drawn on my forehead as now, and Swami said, “You come under the light, otherwise people will think that you have a babandage>

 

The white ash all over the forehead looked like a bandage ! I came under the light. Speaking to students, I said, “Yes, the white ash is a bandage to remove bondage, is to remind that death is waiting, that nothing is permanent, that all your property, possession, fame, honors, scholarship and medals you have won, titles , you have accumulated are just a bit of ash bondage to family . The ash is all that remains in the end.

 

Swami says, death does not ask any questions. It may come at any time, and you must be ready. The camera clicks, and if you are not ready, what is the use ? Be always ready for death.

 

Swami emphasized, to avoid your going outside the compound to mix with people outside, or to sit in coffee shops out side to gossip. Swami has found while going out, that a number of you who have come for Sat, Jyoti and Amruth, spending time gossiping, outside, leaving this atmosphere, leaving study, leaving meditation, leaving prayer and recitation of name, which are important for your spiritual development.

 

Swami says, that this point should be emphasized more and more discipline is very important .

Swami says, you are all supposed to have come on a pilgrimage, a spiritual excursion, and not for simply sight seeing, or for curiosity, or for getting a PhD after writing a thesis on Swami.

 

It is your inner urge which had led you from far off places to this place, to this personality, to this phenomenon. He has attracted you, so that He may keep you around Himself, so that you may have something to ponder over, by which you can develop your purity, sense of unity, sense of virtue and enlightenment.

 

This is the time for you to concentrate upon that is what Swami says..
