Guest guest
Nagalapuram Veda Narayana Swamy Temple Today is Matsya Jayanthi on which Lord Maha Vishnu took the Avatar of the Divine Fish to protect us and this event is being celebrated in the grandest fashion at Nagulapuram Vedanarayana temple on the Andhra-Tamilnadu border about 65 Kms from Tirupathi to Chennai The main purpose of Vishnu’s Matsya avataram was to warn the world about the Maha Pralaya or Deluge and to kill the demon Somakudu and get back the Vedas stolen by him. There is only one temple in India dedicated to Lord Matsya – Nagalapuram Veda Narayana Swamy Temple near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Matsya and the idol has the head and torso of Lord Vishnu and golden human-like feet. Matsya Jayanti is observed with utmost gaiety in this Divine. The temple is huge and architecturally very beautiful. The temple also houses other shrines such as, Vedavalli, Lakshmi Narasimhar, Veera Anjaneya, Bhakta Anjaneya, Rama with Sita and Lakshman.
