Hanuman Jayanthi in Tuesday, the most favourable day of Lord Hanuman, March 30th. In South this day of Hanuman Jayanthi is celebrated as Hanuman Vijayotsavam. Varanasi Sankat Mochan is the most famous temple dedicated to Lord Rama and most visited in the North. Hanuman Jayanthi is the Divine Incarnation of Lord Shiva. When Lord Vishnu took birth, in the form of Rama to vanquish Ravana , the other Gods were also born in various Monkey and Bear races to help him. God Sheshnag and Lord Shiva were also incarnated as Lakshmana and Lord Anjaneya respectively.

 

Lord Anjaneya was born on the full moon day - Purnima of the month Chaitra on Tuesday. That is why every year when Chaitra month's full moon day arrives, his birth-day is ceremonised, which is called shri Hanuman Jayanti and Tuesday is considered very auspicious day to worship Lord Anjaneya.
