Doubt Your Guru

-------

Dr Hislop Says, as we break away from the actions which we have done habitually, and which are not yielding true happiness, we encounter certain questions for which we need answers.

That is why it is extremely important to ask questions. Questions help not only the one who ask, but everyone who listens, because more than likely the questions that you ask is in the mind of many other people at the same time.

One such question came up the other evening. The question was: After all these years with Swami, doubt comes. So what does that mean and what does one do about that?

A genuine and honest question. A troubling question that should be faces and answered. Of course, the answer is that one should doubt his guru. After all, if one is going to believe Him and have faith in Him and change and modify and live ones life according to the teachings given by his preceptor, He should be challenged.

One should doubt Him and satisfy all those doubts before he surrender his life to that charioteer, So it is correct to doubt.

Clarifying the Mind and Heart

--------------

If one is intellectually honest, then he will work through his doubts. If one does not work through the doubts on the devotional path, then let him embark on the other path; the path which is open to all. the path of intelligence of discrimination, of detachment.

It may be slow and difficult, but no one can fail it. So if the devotee find he cannot surrender in devotion to the Lord, then let him take the path of Janana, the path of knowledge, the time-honored path to the understanding of life.

Swami says that the sole purpose of Sadhana of spiritual discipline, is the purification of the mind and the heart. When the mind and the heart are purified, Swami and the sages of old tell us that all truth will flash like lightening across the heart and across the mind. It will be the end of delusion, the end of illusion and the end of pain and suffering.

Any of these paths, will clarify the mind and purify the heart. Now will be a good opportunity and we should do it. Any questions that are in your mind, any questions that come up at all. Please ask, because it will help everyone.
