FEATURE OF THE WEEK: Everyday Monsters

The most important thing a saadhaka (spiritual aspirant) should do is to acknowledge the limitation nature has imposed on the self. Senses are double-edged swords; the ones that help realize the self are the same that takes away from the self. Senses that hear God's glory, witness His grandeur, experience His presence is not so blessed when they involve in acts of self-indulgence, in blatant ignorance of the purpose life may have. Bombarded by lethargy, anger, lust, passion, and self-gratification even at its slightest level, human mind is in constant turmoil. This is the root cause even the greatest of aspirants have fallen to. These everyday monsters pleasing to the senses at first, lead as a sequel to indolence and self-delusion. Is there a way out? Let us see what the simple God of Sikhs and Parsees, Christians and Jains, Hindus and Muslims, and everyone that believed, said: "What

do I do? Maya (delusion) troubles even the likes of me. What to say about everyone else?" By consenting to the existence of this innate limitation, the Saint Lord of Shirdi has in unequivocal terms points out what could be done. A rise is always followed by a fall. Senses that define a happy state of mind are the same ones that declare the catastrophe. Logic in its several forms ratifies the cycle of gaiety and gloom. Allah Maalik! The Master said, "be aware of the delusions, remember me always, believe truthfully in being the humblest, and realize that the real Kingship exists in the poverty". Knowing the existence of monsters must in fact bring one closer to the Master. Faith and patience, is the rope that should hold one to the pole. A calf restrained firmly to the cow can never be lost!

CONTRIBUTED ARTICLE: Bhakthi

Narada bhakti sutras mention "Satasmin parama premarupa". Bhakti is described as the supreme love towards Him. Here we see God is himself love and bhakti is supreme love towards God who is satyam sivam sundaram. God is embodiment of love, as he loves all his creation, as all creatures in the creation are his amsa or part of him. Therefore, God can only be reached by supreme love. What are the types of love we see in our lives? The maximum love is that of a mother to her child. I saw a movie called Ma. Mother has two sons. One works very hard in the field while the other is truant roaming about with evil characters. The mother loves the bad son much more than her good son. That is the mother's love. Her son neglects such sacrificing mother in her old age as he concentrates on his wife after he gets married. Mother also loves her children but not other children born to other mothers.

God in his eternal love loves all virtuous and sinners alike. Though we may start going to God because we need help for health wealth etc, we have to love him with out any desire, this is supreme love. Let us consider other kind of love, the love between a man and a woman. In the beginning, this love appears to be the supreme love. After marriage with all family problems, most of the times, his love wanes. Once a newly wed started to go on a walk. The gentle husband was very cautious and he tells his wife to look for thistles and thorns on the road. The same couple after some years took the same path for a walk. He remains silent but after a while just warns her to be careful. A few years later, he is indifferent to her well being and does not even speak during the walk. This is a good example of what happens to the feelings we call as love. This is the human love. So one may start with desires to approach God but that affection should grow into

unconditional, supreme love to God. Guru is embodiment of God and should be approached with absolute surrender and unconditional love. (Source: "SV 3: 50")

EXPERIENCE OF DEVOTEES:

SwethaOM SAI RAM. I want to share experience of mine with all Sai devotees. Until my marriage I was not a follower of SAI nor I know his Holiness, but after marriage I come to know about his holiness partly through my husband who is an ardent devotee of SAI and my own experiences with SAI. I want to share one such experience with all Sai Devotees. When both my husband and me went to BABA temple and after Darshan we sat there for meditation and when I closed my eyes, to my surprise Baba gave me a vision and asked me 'Do u want children?' to this I replied, 'No' when Baba asked me ''why..?' I answered that we were just married and need to settle in our life. After that beautiful experience in the temple we forgot about it. 3 or 4 months passed just like that, then I had to undergo certain situations regarding children which was depressing, then I remembered about my

experience in the temple upon looking at his portrait and said to myself that I said No to children' when you are blessing me for children, As a result I had to undergo such pain without any support. Baba who was so kind blessed me and in due time I became pregnant. Until this moment, I never prayed him whole-heartedly but, once I stood before him he gave me everything. He also saved my daughter, when I was in my 5th month we came to know that the baby is having a kidney problem and an ultrasound needs to be done. For this we went to the hospital, then after the test they thought there was something wrong and they felt that I am going to deliver a Pre-mature baby, and were preparing for a c-section, I was completely shaken by this, turned to my lord Sai and prayed to him that I will post to Sai Vichaar if I deliver baby on time and kept praying to him. The Lo, Wonder of Wonders, I was discharged from the hospital within 30 min saying that everything is

normal. In due course I delivered healthy baby on the exact due date. OM SAI. Now We have appointment for my baby Ultrasound to see if the Baby Kidneys are fine on Monday And Am very confident that SAI will be with us through these tough times and Bless my baby with good Health. I request all Sai Devotees to pray for my baby. Om SAI. ManavWe were waiting for H4 extension approval from last 11 months. It was unduly delayed. This delay was creating lot of frustration. We started praying to Baba for this. Baba was continuously sending message through Sai Satcharita to have faith with devotion and things will become ok. On Wednesday, I thought of talking to second attorney to escalate the pending case. Somehow attorney was busy and she asked me to call next day. Meanwhile, I checked the online status in evening and there was this miracle. I saw, status has become approved. Thanks Baba and as promised I am posting this incident in

Sai Vichar. Baba please bless us and bless all devotees always. Jai Sai Ram.
