Hello Everybody,

 

Let me introduce myself. I am Raji. With the Divine Grace of Baba, I

and my husband Mani stay in Ventura, CA (about 100 miles North of

L.A.)

 

Baba stayed with us in Ventura on the 17th & 18th of April and I want

to recapitulate the experiences we had with Baba during his stay at

my residence.

 

17th April 2000

 

It was Monday morning 4.00 A.M. We were expecting Baba anytime and I

had not slept the whole night in anticipation of meeting Baba. For

the whole of the previous week I and mani were planning all the

time about where we could take Baba and how we could serve him during

his stay at our residence. The first question that arose to my mind

was what places Baba would be interested in visiting and whether

he would like going to Universal studios with us etc. This made me

all the more nervous. But Baba, on the contrary , had no preferences.

 

Baba, Ravi and Anjana arrived at 4.30 A.M at Ventura driving all the

way from SanJose (It would take about 7 hours to reach our

residence). It was raining very heavily. All three were really tired

and we spent 1/2 hr talking and then we all went to sleep. We woke up

rather late the next morning.

 

Baba and all four of us were sitting together and talking. Baba was

very jovial as usual in his own style. He then showed some CD's about

Himself and Samratchana using Ravi's Laptop. Samratchana as it stands

today is quite different from what it was in its yester years as I

have known it. It's guiding principles always remains the same but it

has a new outlook with the divine touch of the grace of Baba as per

the changing times.

 

I was bewildered as to what was happening ? Is this all a dream ? Is

Baba really at our residence ? His divine presence generated a

different spiritual experience for us. I keep on thinking as to when

I would be able to have many more of these experiences.

 

Then baba performed homam and we all had our lunch. By this time the

rain became a drizzle from an outpour. We decided to to go out and we

drove to SantaBarbara beach. We spent some time there and we came

back to be in time to go the temple in Chatsworth where we had

arranged for a discourse by Baba at 7.00 P.M. The turn out at the

temple seemed meak but it was the first time that I had seen Baba

talk in Hindi. I was really surprised at his fluency. We came back,

had dinner and went to sleep.

 

18th April 2000

 

As we had planned to go to Universal Studios we got up early in the

morning and we packed our breakfast and left for Hollywood. On the

way Baba was cutting a lot of jokes and his humor was unbelievable.

Who else would stoop down to our levels and move in this way ? This

is Baba's real greatness. I felt very close to Baba and I lost even

the little bit of fear that was lingering in my heart. We do not need

to fear him. I and Mani still remember the drive and keep talking

about it.

 

We had our breakfast at Universal studios and we went to some of the

rides. Baba was recollecting all the rides which he had gone to at

Orlando, Florida in 1996 and we were really thrilled at his memory.

Whenever we used to point at something he used to tell us

jokingly " NAN ITHA ELLAM SINGAPORELAYE PARTHIRRUKKEN " . We started

from Hollywood at 6.00 PM as we had arranged for Baba's speech in

Valley temple at Northridge. The turnout at this temple was also

meak. Baba gave his speech in English and Hindi. Then Baba, I , Ravi

and Anjana left for Raman & Srividhya's house at Orange County. We

had a nice dinner and we left for Ganesh Pattabiraman and Aruna's

house at SanDiego that very night.

 

19th, 20th April 2000

 

In SanDiego we went to DisneyLand and Seaworld. Baba left for Mexico

with Aruna, Ganesh and Santosh. We could not accompany them as we did

not have our passports. So I, Anjana and Ravi went to SeaWorld.

The SanDiego and Mexico Experiences would be described by Aruna and

Ganesh.

 

On 20th Night we started from SanDiego to go to praveena's house at

Sanjose and on the way we had dropped at my residence to take some

rest and dinner as there was a long drive to follow. Mani had

prepared dinner for all of us and thanks to Baba we all survived.

 

Already Praveena has described her experiences when Baba was at her

residence. On 21st Morning we gave a tearful Sendoff to Baba. Mani

had also come to Sanjose to give Baba a sendoff. So After the sendoff

we went to Praveena's house rested there for a while and had some

delicious dosas prepared by her and her roomates Renuka and Padma. We

were back to Ventura on Saturday afternoon with sweet memories

of Baba's stay with us.

 

Thanks to Anjana, Ravi, Ganesh, Aruna, Santosh, Sudha, Praveena and

others for all the help they had rendered to me.
